INSANITY® Why Everyone’s Mad For It

Kc Van Roose, Head of Group Exercise explains what all the fuss is about with the INSANITY© class workout

Why is INSANITY so popular?

INSANITY® “the class” has condensed the best parts of the INSANITY® home workout DVD and at Soho we’ve two of the three UK INSANITY® Master Trainers taking our classes. Put simply, people who’ve done both DVD and class say it’s harder owing to working in a group. Naturally your motivation is greater in a group environment, combine that with some top tracks and expert trainers it definitely beats doing INSANITY® alone at home in your living room with nothing but a TV!

What do the exercises look like?

They’re pretty simple, so long as you have a basic level of fitness. It doesn’t need lots of co-ordination and you don’t need to be a massive “gym-goer” to do it. The thing that is tough (initially) is the high intensity combined with short rest periods. To show you some exercises from the class I’ve created a video here for you demonstrating 8 key moves from INSANITY®. If you can do these, you can do the class – believe me.

Why it works

It’s possible to burn up to 1000kcal and more in an hour doing INSANITY®. In short, it works you harder for longer and you have short rest periods. It stresses your system to burn huge amounts of calories and critically causes a metabolic effect so you keep burning calories in the hours after your workout.
