Jeremy Norman

Chairman

After a visit to America, Jeremy was inspired to open his first gym, Power Station in Chelsea, in 1983. Using his experience in the nightclub world – he created both Heaven and The Embassy Club – he went on to open Soho Athletic Club in Covent Garden in 1994. The group quickly expanded to include Earls Court Gym (where Princess Diana trained). He is now part-time executive Chairman, guiding the group's expansion to 6 gyms, all in London. He trains regularly with a Personal Trainer. His partner, Derek Frost, the interior designer, is responsible for the overall look of the gyms.

Michael Crockett

Managing Director

I joined Soho Gyms in January 2003 after 8 years of managing a variety of leisure operations and many more years as a squash coach. I place the highest importance on great customer service, keeping the gyms clean, functional and organised, training our staff – and especially on everyone having some fun along the way. I hope you enjoy our gyms as much as I enjoy working within them.

Tony Lyons

Director of Fitness

I joined Soho Gyms 4 years ago, as Gym Manager at Covent Garden. I have been in this industry for over 20 years in many different capacities, mostly as a Personal Trainer, working all over the world. After my years in management, I returned to Personal Training as it was my first love, and I oversee the PT operation here at Soho Gyms. I now specialize in clients who find it very difficult to reach their goals – and I find great satisfaction in helping them achieve them. All of my clients are long term, committed gym goers. Karen Mason

I didn't really get into fitness until my late 20’s, I remember my first visit to a gym as a nerve-racking experience but happily fear didn’t equal reality. I found that I loved training and went on to compete as a body builder.

Over the years I’ve taught as a freelance studio instructor, managed studios for several health clubs, taught master classes both nationally and internationally, presented on fitness-related TV chat shows/commercials and even managed to get on MTV Music videos. I’ve competed as a Natural Body Builder, won two British titles and have a professional world ranking with the WNBF (World Natural Bodybuilding Association)

I’ve found it very easy to settle into the Soho way of life and am enjoying the challenge of taking the already excellent studio product a step further. I’d be very pleased to hear from you with any suggestion or thoughts you have about the studio classes and will do my best to ensure you have a great time in our classes.
